New Tariffs Added to Affect Healthcare Products

The Trump Administration released another round of tariffs on Chinese goods worth $200 billion this past week. The list includes categories of goods such as meat and fish, fruits and vegetables, tobacco, chemicals, rubber goods, leather goods, textiles, wood articles and many others. The list of goods would receive a 10% tariff following a public comment period. This percentage is reduced from the 25% tariff the first two lists of goods sought.

Included in the list of items are a number of crucial healthcare products including:

  • Rubber exam gloves
  • Disposable underpads
  • Wet wipes
  • Specimen bags
  • Lavatory pans
  • X-ray film

Tariffs would not go into effect for at least two months.
